Description
The SK1 Oak is the classic BeaverCraft spoon knife with an upgraded oak handle. Its hooked blade has a 25 mm rounding diameter, right for the bowl of a teaspoon or dessert spoon and for finishing the inside of larger hollows. The blade is 1066 high-carbon steel at 57–59 HRC, single-bevelled for a right-hand pull cut, with a 55 mm cutting edge.
The 135 mm oak handle gives room to brace a thumb on the spine for controlled cuts. BeaverCraft sharpens its carving tools to a 20° bevel for soft woods such as basswood and recommends against using them on hardwoods, where the fine edge dulls quickly. Weight is about 52 g.
