Description
The S43 Book is the spoon and kuksa set: everything needed to go from a split billet to a finished cup or ladle, packed in a hinged wooden case shaped like a book. The C4 sloyd knife (80 mm blade, oak handle) roughs out the blank, the 15 mm bent gouge and the SK2 hook knife (30 mm rounding diameter) hollow the bowl, and the C3 chip carving knife cleans up the details. A leather strop with compound is included.
Blades are 1066 high-carbon steel at 57–59 HRC. BeaverCraft sharpens its carving tools to a 20° bevel for soft woods such as basswood and recommends against using them on hardwoods, where the fine edge dulls quickly.
