Description
The S19X puts BeaverCraft's three core whittling knives into a leather tool roll with a strop and polishing compound. The C4 sloyd knife (80 mm blade) does the roughing out, the C1 small sloyd (60 mm) handles general shaping, and the C3 chip carving knife (40 mm) is for detail and chip work. All three have oiled European walnut handles and 1066 high-carbon steel blades at 57–59 HRC, sharpened to a 20° bevel.
BeaverCraft sharpens its carving tools to a 20° bevel for soft woods such as basswood and recommends against using them on hardwoods, where the fine edge dulls quickly. Wipe the blades dry after use.
