The 686/36 is a full-size machete from Fox Knives, built for clearing thick brush, branches, and dense vegetation during outdoor and land-management work. Its 360mm blade is forged from C70 carbon steel, hardened to HRC 55-57, giving it strong edge retention and the ability to take a very sharp, aggressive edge suited to heavy chopping.
At 3.5mm thick and 500mm overall, the blade delivers real chopping momentum while remaining manageable through repeated swings. The blade is finished with a black Idroglider coating, a durable, low-friction, PTFE-based treatment that reduces glare and helps protect the carbon steel from corrosion during outdoor use. The handle is crafted from Palisander wood, a dense, attractive hardwood that provides a comfortable, secure grip, and is finished with polished brass fittings for a classic look.
Made in Italy, the 686/36 ships with a genuine leather sheath for safe carry and storage between uses.
