The TRONC. 180 Ryoba TS244 is a compact double-edge Japanese pull saw combining crosscut and rip teeth on a 180 mm blade, making it a versatile all-rounder for DIY, woodcraft, and carpentry in limited spaces. One edge features fine crosscut teeth, while the other uses rip teeth with decreasing pitch, allowing fast ripping along the grain and smooth crosscutting with a single tool.
With a 0.5 mm plate and dual kerfs of approximately 0.81 mm (crosscut side) and 0.79 mm (rip side), the TS244 balances cutting speed with surface quality on materials such as particle board (OSB), MDF, general timber, laminated wood, composite panels, and bamboo. The striped handle, crafted from layered maple and cherry in Miki City, is 190 mm long, incorporates a hanging hole, and is secured with an antique-look GB-plated screw.
The blade benefits from special surface treatment for rust resistance, laser-marked specifications, and impulse hardening to create a hard, wear-resistant tooth surface over a flexible core.
