Description
The Expert "Zan" is the double-edged (ryoba) saw in Nakaya's Expert 180mm series, a line of professional saws built around short blades and durable rubber handles. One edge has crosscut teeth (22 per 30mm) and the other has rip teeth, so a single saw covers cuts both across and along the grain. The 180mm blade is 0.5mm thick and deliberately short, making the saw easy to control for smaller jobs and in tight spaces, and it cuts on the pull stroke like all Japanese saws. Nakaya lists the Zan for DIY, furniture, fittings, and interior and exterior work in general wood, glulam, plywood, MDF and thin sheet goods. The strong, non-slip rubber handle is shared with the Expert "Jin" kataba, so one handle can carry either blade. When the teeth dull, fit a genuine Nakaya replacement blade (sold separately).
