Description
The Nakaya Expert "Jin" is a compact single-edged kataba for crosscutting. Its 180 mm blade is 0.5 mm thick with 17 crosscut teeth per 30 mm, and the teeth are impulse hardened so they keep cutting well for a long time. The short blade makes it easy to handle in tight spaces, on site and in the toolbox, while the absence of a spine means it can cut as deep as the blade is long.
Unlike Nakaya's traditional wooden-handled saws, the Expert series has a strong, comfortable rubber handle that stays secure in a gloved or wet hand. The handle is shared with the Expert "Zan" ryoba blade, so one handle can carry either blade. Genuine Nakaya Expert Jin replacement blades are sold separately.
Nakaya Saw Co. has been making saws in Sanjo, Niigata, since 1925 and specializes in replaceable-blade designs: when the teeth finally dull, you fit a genuine Nakaya replacement blade rather than attempting to resharpen it. Made in Japan.
