Description
The Climb Right by Stein HMS carabiner is the pear-shaped connector in the Climb Right by Stein series of forged aluminum carabiners, made by STEIN for Spyder Manufacturing's Climb Right line. Its wide top end gives friction hitches, belay devices and multiple attachments room to sit and rotate without jamming, which is why the HMS shape is a favourite at the bridge of an arborist saddle and in rescue and rigging set-ups.
The triple-action locking gate takes three deliberate movements to open (slide, twist and pull) and relocks itself the moment it is released, so it cannot be left unlocked by accident. A snag-free nose lets the carabiner clip and unclip cleanly without catching on rope, slings or hardware. Forged aluminum keeps the weight down on your harness while delivering a 25 kN major-axis rating, and the carabiner is certified to both EN 362:2004 (Class B connector) and EN 12275:2013.
The bright orange finish stands out on a crowded saddle, making this a natural pick for colour-coding a climbing system. Overall size is 4.5 in. by 2.4 in. with a 22 mm (7/8 in.) gate opening, and each carabiner carries its own serial number for your inspection records.
