This genuine Adler WAGNUM handle brings the 1,250 g Splitting Hatchet Professional back into service. Adler offers this hatchet with either an ash or a hickory handle, and the head is the same on both, so this hickory handle fits whichever version you own. At 50 cm it keeps the one-handed, controlled swing that makes the hatchet so handy for kindling and small to medium rounds. Hickory is tougher and more solid than ash, and its long fibers make a complete break rare. Adler kiln-dries the wood and hand-inspects every handle at its Waghäusel, Germany, works before it ships. The handle is lacquered with a painted grip end and shaped for a firm, non-slip hold. Hang the head with a wooden wedge and steel ring wedges, following Adler's standard method.
