Rope Knife RKR GH

The Hultafors Rope Knife RKR GH is a craftsman's knife for cutting the things a plain edge struggles with: rope, cord, webbing, strapping bands and other hard or tough materials, especially when the material is under tension. Sixty millimetres of the blade is serrated, so the teeth bite in and saw through fibres instead of sliding off them, while the remaining plain section near the tip handles ordinary cutting.
The blade is 2.0 mm German stainless steel hardened to 57–59 HRC and 93 mm long. Stainless steel suits a knife that will be used outdoors and around wet rope. The cutting edge is sharpened in several stages, and the serrations are there to increase cutting power rather than to replace a keen edge.
The handle is moulded from super-durable polypropylene and fitted with a Santoprene friction grip, the feature that sets Hultafors' GH models apart from the standard versions. The grip stays secure in wet, cold or gloved hands, which matters when you are pulling a blade through a loaded line.
The knife ships in a polypropylene holster with Hultafors' button-mount system: slip a button on your work trousers or jacket through the hole, pull the holster down and snap the cover firmly closed. It will not work loose while you move, yet it comes off in seconds by undoing the cover. The holster also fits on a belt; if your belt is thick, simply cut away the small pin on the cover. The RKR GH fits the same holster as the Hultafors Craftsman's Knife HVK.
Overall length is 209 mm.
