Nordlys Knife
The Helle Nordlys 14C28N is a compact, full-tang outdoor knife designed as a smaller, more nimble version of the Helle Nord for all-round bushcraft and camp work. With a sturdy 3.1 mm Scandinavian-ground blade in tough 14C28N stainless steel and a 122 mm cutting edge, it balances cutting performance, durability, and corrosion resistance in a manageable size. A contoured curly birch handle around 124 mm long provides secure control in both forward and pommel grips, while the leather sheath keeps the knife protected on the belt for year-round use.
Nordlys, meaning “Northern Lights” in Norwegian, carries over the lines and ergonomics of the larger Nord but in a more compact footprint that suits hikers, hunters, and bushcrafters who prefer a slightly smaller knife. The drop-point blade in Alleima/Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel is 122 mm long and about 3.1 mm thick, giving a strong spine and classic Scandinavian grind that excels at woodcraft, fire prep, carving, and general camp chores. A full-tang construction runs through the sculpted curly birch handle, delivering a confident, hand-filling grip with room for choking up for fine cuts or shifting back toward the pommel for more power. At roughly 210 g for the knife and about 278 g including the sheath, it offers a solid feel without feeling bulky on the belt.
