King Nagura Stone

Nagura stones are small, fine-grit stones used in conjunction with larger waterstones. Use your Nagura stone for:

• Cleaning and Conditioning: Nagura stones help remove metal particles and glazing that accumulate on the surface of sharpening stones during use, keeping the main stone clean and effective.
• Creating a Sharpening Slurry: When rubbed on the surface of a waterstone, the Nagura stone generates a fine abrasive slurry. This slurry enhances the sharpening and polishing action, especially on finer grit stones (3000 grit and above).
• Surface Flattening: Nagura stones can help level out small high spots on the main stone.
• Enhancing Polishing: The slurry created by a Nagura stone can help achieve a smoother, more polished edge, particularly when working with high-grit finishing stones (e.g., 6000–8000 grit).
