Description
The Silky Katanaboy 1000 is the world's largest folding saw, with a full one-metre blade for felling and bucking logs around 50 cm in diameter by hand. The teeth are progressive, 5 per 30 mm near the handle for an easy start and 2.5 per 30 mm toward the tip for maximum bite, and the long two-handed GOM rubber handle lets you drive the pull stroke with your whole body. Silky's MIRAI-ME teeth are precision-ground with four cutting angles, so the saw cuts on the pull stroke with little effort and leaves a smooth surface that heals quickly.
The teeth are not impulse hardened, so they can be resharpened with a Silky file, and a locking safety system stops the blade before it closes into the handle. The saw folds to 1,200 mm and comes in a canvas carrying case. It is a working tool for trail crews, forestry and off-grid building rather than a pack saw.
