Gyokucho Razorsaw 180 Dozuki Back Saw

The Razorsaw 180 Dozuki is a compact Japanese back saw for joinery: tenon shoulders, dovetails and any crosscut that has to be dead straight and clean. The full-length spine stiffens the 0.3 mm blade, the 1.0 mm pitch teeth leave a glass-smooth surface and the 0.46 mm kerf wastes almost no wood. The teeth are impulse hardened, an electrical heat treatment that makes the cutting edges much harder than the body of the blade, so they stay sharp far longer than conventional teeth.

The 180 series is Gyokucho's compact range: a 180 mm blade on a straight TPE-gripped handle, sized for hobby work, model making, household repairs and anyone who finds a full 240 mm saw too long. The grip is moulded from non-slip elastomer and has a hole at the end for hanging the saw. When the teeth finally dull, the blade is replaced rather than sharpened; a fresh blade restores the saw to new condition at a fraction of the cost of a new saw.
