The ARS KR-1000L is the long-handled version of ARS's award-winning KR-1000 professional hedge shear, made in Japan for gardeners and landscapers working large hedge faces day after day. Its straight 750mm handles give noticeably more reach and leverage than a standard shear, letting you work higher up a hedge, deeper into a row, and further across a face from a single stance — while a total weight of just 840g keeps the tool manageable at full extension.
The 180mm blades are forged from thermally treated high carbon steel and hard-chrome plated, giving them the cutting strength to shear cleanly through growth up to 10mm along with excellent corrosion resistance and a smooth, wipe-clean surface. The blades are fully replaceable, so a damaged or worn-out blade can be swapped quickly and cost-effectively instead of retiring the whole shear. A screw retainer holds the pivot setting precisely where you set it, maintaining consistent cutting accuracy without stopping to re-adjust mid-job.
The handles are ultra-light forged aluminium, ergonomically shaped for a comfortable, balanced hold through long sessions, and built-in shock absorbers take the sting out of the end of each stroke to reduce fatigue in the hands and wrists.
