Notch Offset Oval 3600 lb Gate Aluminum Carabiner

This is the earlier, green-anodized version of Notch's Offset Oval 3600 lb Gate Aluminum Carabiner, sold alongside the current Scannable-enabled model while stock lasts. It carries the same core ratings as its successor but without the serialized data matrix, which makes it a good-value ANSI- and CSA-rated connector for crews that keep paper inspection records.
The gate is the reason to buy it. Rated to 3,600 lb (16 kN) across the gate and marked for ANSI Z359.12 and CSA Z259.12, this carabiner satisfies the connector requirements that many utility and municipal arborist programs specify. The twist-lock gate locks automatically when released, so it cannot be left open by accident.
The offset-oval frame gives a roomy basket at the top for friction hitches and lanyard eyes while keeping the load close to the spine. Major-axis strength is 29 kN (approx. 6,520 lbf) with a working load limit of 651 lb, and the 0.79 in. (20 mm) gate opening takes rope, slings and standard lanyard terminations. The green anodized frame with a black knurled gate stands out on a saddle full of grey hardware.
